We are passionate about what we do. We have been serving San Diego's physicians / midwives since 1997 and are located in a charming, 100 year old craftsman to provide a comfortable and unique experience for all our clients. We were one of the first in San Diego to offer 4D imaging, starting in 2000 as XDI Ultrasound. Our Sonographers are registered (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, NTQR Certified, have a combined experience of over 40,000 ultrasounds and over 25 years experience.
SERGIO E HERNANDEZ, RDMS, BS, NTQR
CEO/ Chief Sonographer, opened XDI Ultrasound / Sonohealth in 1997 near the neighborhood Medical Mall in Mira Mesa, moved to the UTC area, and now at the current location in University Heights. A registered sonographer since 1993, Sergio holds two speciality certifications in Obstetrics / Gynecology and Abdomen / Superficial Structures Ultrasound. In 1993, Sergio was presented with a “Certificate of Appreciation” from the Air Force Human Systems Center for performing over 1,000 Testicular Sonograms (yes, this is true) for a research project at Scripps Green Hospital. He is certified in Nuchal Translucency Screening since 2008 and Nasal Bone Screening in 2010. Sergio has taught groups of student midwives from the Nizhoni Institute of Midwifery on the Benefits of Ultrasound During Pregnancy. A San Diego native, Sergio graduated from UCSD with a degree in Biochemistry / Cell Biology. His professional membership affiliations include the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
Sergio embraces his nerdy side and loves anything science based. From books, museums, to documentaries, he loves keeping up with the latest in biology, astrophysics and, of course, ultrasound. He enjoys obscure music, to which his wife and two children describe as “music that only 10 people on the planet enjoy”, and has started hardcore-punk band Amenity and Latin-funksters B-Side Players in his youth.
BREANA LINDQUIST, BS, RDMS
Breana, our lead sonographer, is a registered sonographer that holds two specialty certifications in Obstetrics / Gynecology and Abdomen / Superficial Structures Ultrasound. She is a member of the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. A New York native, Breana graduated from State University of New York (SUNY) with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and an Academic Associate of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from West Coast Ultrasound Institute in Beverly Hills.
EDDIE C HERNANDEZ, RDMS, NTQR
Sonographer. A sonographer since 2014, Eddie specializes in Obstetrics / Gynecology, 4D & 3D Ultrasound and is certified for Nuchal Translucency Screenings. A San Diego native and ex-New York resident, Eddie enjoys reading sci-fi, mixology and long walks on the beach.
KIMBERLY LANZAGORTA, BS
Office Manager / Billing Specialist. Kim can answer questions you may have regarding your insurance benefits. She holds a degree in Business Administration / Marketing with a double major in Japanese from SDSU and has been with Sonohealth since 2005. Although Kim is usually working behind the scenes at Sonohealth, her attention to detail helps keep things running efficiently with a smile.
Kim enjoys her lively family including active twin boys and daughter. She enjoys trips to the zoo, museum, parks, and crafty art projects with her kids when she isn't building, sewing or creating something. Kim is always happy to share her twin adventures (as well as pregnancy stories) if you catch her in the receptionist area.
THANH PHUNG, MD, NTQR
Radiologist Dr. Thanh Phung, MD, who has over 40 years experience in radiology imaging and is board certified by the American Board of Radiology since 1984.
